Mid-week surprise #post because it is that time of the year again when our ambassadors Charles and Ron headed to #NYFW and represent our little gem of an island with their latest collection and in my humble space here, I come to share my appreciation for C&R.

Any Charles & Ron show is a delight to watch especially at this time of the year since designers put their feet forward and set the tone and trends for next years styles. This season’s SS’19 Collection, intriguingly called 316 km², was presented on the runway of the Angel Orensanz Foundation during the popular Art Hearts Fashion event on Saturday 8th September 2018.
C&R love for our beautiful country of Malta is a given but it never fails to radiate through all the pieces that went we saw walking beautifully down the catwalk. I could easily spot the inspiration taken from our villages and their individual traditions. The colour palette felt like a warm summer afternoon filled with shade of Sunburst Orange, Sunflower Yellow, Light Sky Blue, Lilac and Mint, however fear note as the classic black and white of C&R was also evident in most of the designs.

The fabric used for this collection included Chiffon, Silk, soft Tulle and light embroidered Denim. The looks made me earn for those soft summer night breeze that we are still currently enjoying and are truly the essence of our Maltese summer nights.
A pleasant new addition to this years collection were the gorgeous prints and embroidered gowns which included the Wall Lizard, the Freshwater Crab, the Maltese Falcon and the Dolphin. These gowns hand-made are might I add exceptionally beautiful.

In true C&R tradition, collection would not be complete without the addition of new accessories including custom jewellery, leather belts, shopper bags and beautiful matching boots.

Lastly loved loved loved the choice of music for the show. The Travellers created a customised playlist to accompany the models down the runway show. A truly and complete Maltese experience.
